Afternoons in July and August are very hot and it's the perfect place for Kona Ironman training and race preparation. We also have miles of valleys roads and flatter routes that mirror the Kona course for distance and elevation and perfect places to practise transition from open water and Olympic pools to bike and bike to run.
We focus the on the swim and bike legs, providing the perfect environment to make you faster and get the training volume, position tuning, swim technique analysis and heat adaptation you'll need to succeed at Kona.

Our Kona Speed Camp is a focused week of triathlon and TT training and tuning. We provide a mix of riding to build your week, including full Ironman bike legs, short (10mile) and long (25mile) TT legs, rolling routes and as many mountains as you may wish to add.
The week includes open water and Olympic outdoor pool swims, heat acclimatisation rides, TT efforts and relaxed group recovery rides. We have miles of beautiful trails and roads for BRIC sessions and a shaded stretch zone.
We've spent many hours aero testing and can help you get faster on the bike, through better positioning and kit optimisation. We also run "Special Guest" Weeks with World Class swimmers providing Video Analysis and Aero Dynamicists supporting Aero testing.
Of course, if you want to you can ride 4 - 6 hours a day, every in 30-35 heat!

day 01: arrival
One of the escapar team will meet you on arrival at the airport and transport you directly to the retreat.
If you are arriving on an early flight and wish to ride after assembling your bike or fitting of our hire bike, we can recommend an easy rolling route towards Albadia or Fontanars. It's locally known for good reason as the 'Tuscany of Valencia'.
We can provide road or trail running routes straight from our door step.

day 02: bike fit | heat ride
We spend the first part of the day reviewing and making bike fit changes. There may be several test runs as we change position.
Preparation begins before you join us with a review of current setup and options to test and change. Together we make changes and if required we can supply a pro mechanic to assist with setup.
With positions dialled we ride as a group for second longer heat ride.
If you're not optimising fit, morning swim or ride options are available.

day 03: velodrome swim bike
We have the opportunity to further optimise bike fit and test position on the outdoor velodrome. At the centre, there's an outdoor 50m pool from where we swim and then transition to the bike for a medium length group ride.
The course profiles show the Serra Mariola loop - 80km / 1100m and climbs that can be tackled in the big ring.

day 04: long heat ride
In our optimized position a Kona-esque matching long ride is the order of the day. Typically we head West to flatter plains of Villena and beyond. There are stunning castles and valleys to distract the eye.
We have options that include a full circuit of the Serra Mariola, country side loops into Mogenta wine region on longer routes to Villena and Sax.
The route profile show 160km / 1300m climbing
For athletes seeking a hillier challenge, we offer the out and back route to the Vall de Gallinera and Serra Mariola.

day 05: run swim run
A a run to the stunning Pou Clar lakes for an open water swim and run back the Finca.
There's several routes to the lake including a 3.2km countryside option, a 5km valley and bridge route and trail options.
The lake is sourced with cool mountain water from the source of 3 rivers and is perfect for hot days, but a challenge in winter!
There's a group recovery ride or solo options in the afternoon. Or an opportunity for gastronomic recovery to enjoy a Menu del dia in one of the many fabulous restaurants on our doorstep.

day 06: TT bike run
We'll cover pre race preparation and warm up protocol, before a TT effort.
We have options for the classic distances 10 mile, 25mile on flat, hilly or rolling courses and and can extend for longer. After the effort, there's group ride of short to medium distance. Athletes wanting to recovery run or stretch can do so after we return to the Finca.

day 07: swim bike run
We finish our week with a classic swim bike run, with full transition practise efforts between.
We start from Pou Clar and have ride options from 40-160km and multiple distance runs, based around your training plan and review of the week. After bike packing, we enjoy paella, bbq and drinks at the Finca provided by a high quality local chef.
For athletes seeking a tough final day challenge, we offer the out and back route to the Vall de Gallinera and Serra Mariola and can includes multiple climbs including Beniarres, Bocairent, Tudons and more.
